Red Kidney Beans Sauce


1 cup red kidney beans (soaked in water)
1 large red onion, sliced
1 table spoon tomato paste
3 medium fresh tomatoes, sliced
2 table spoons oil
1 tsp paprika
1/2 cumin powder
1 tsp coriander seeds
Chopped celery leaves.
Salt to taste.


  1. Cook red kidney beans with (4 cups of water) till they are soft and melt in your mouth, set aside.
  2. In a pan over medium flame add oil followed by red onion, tomato paste and fresh tomatoes, cook for 2 to 3 minutes stirring occasionally.
  3. Then add paprika, coriander seeds, cumin powder and salt for taste, stir and let cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the cooked red kidney beans to the mixture and stir well. Allow the beans to cook and blend with mixture in low flame for about 10 minutes.
  5. Then add chopped celery and stir again, put of the flame.
  6. Allow the beans to cool down and serve with rice. Bonne Appetit.
