First make Vegan steak
1 cup vital wheat gluten flour
1 tsp paprika
1 tablespoon of beetroot, blended
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp of salt
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 cup of water or vegetable broth
1 tbsp of tomato paste
1 tbsp of soy sauce
Mix all the dry ingredients. Vital wheat flour, garlic and onion powder, salt, paprika and coriander powder. Now add the wet to the dry ingredients and knead until you get a soft and stretchy dough.
Let the dough rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
Cut your vegan steak dough into steak-ish shapes and wrap in baking parchment paper and steam for 40 minutes.
Make Vegan steak sandwich
For the marinade: 1/2 of water, 1 tsp of paprika, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tbsp soya sauce, 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of blended beetroot: optional.
In a container, combine all the ingredients together and mix very well. Now place the seitan pieces and cover. Then shake it to make sure all the pieces are coated. Leave it to marinate for 10 to 15 minutes. You can also leave it overnight. It even taste better in the morning.
You can use any herbs you have at hand.
Place a frying pan on the stove. Add little oil Shallow fry the steak pieces until golden brown on one side. Flip and cook the other side.
You can also bake these for just few minutes.
Prepare your sandwich bread.
Place some sliced of fresh tomatoes and cucumber, then 2 or 3 slices of the sandwich and some lettuce on top.
Note: you can spread your bread with Vegan butter or any sauce of choice.
