INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup of ground nuts
- 3 cups of filtered water
- 3 pitted dates
- Pinch of salt ( optional)
PREPARATION
Soak the peanuts in the water over night.
Drain and rinse. Place peanuts in a blender, add water, pitted dates and pinch of salt (optional). Blend until smooth.
Pour the mixture into a nut bag, a cheese cloth or any chiffon material that does not allow the gritty parts to pass through. Squeeze out the milk.
Pour milk into a pot and cook over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes. You don’t need to cook it for long. Stir frequently to prevent lumps to form. (This step is optional, sometimes I don’t boil my homemade peanut milk, specially, when I want to use it for baking goods.
Transfer peanut milk to a container and store in the refrigerator. Serve at room temperature. Enjoy.
