Tofu is very delicious and concentrated in proteins. It is one of the best source of vegan proteins. Making it at home is very interesting.

INGREDIENTS

1 block of firm tofu
1 cup of grinded soya mince, or dry mushroom powder
1 small onion
½ cup of rice flour
½ cup of water or homemade vegetable broth
1 tbsp of flaxseeds meal + 3 tbsp of water
2 tbsp of tomato paste
1 small red bell pepper
1 tbsp onion powder or garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
Salt to taste

PREPARATION METHOD

First combine 1 table spoon of flaxseeds with 3 table spoons of water. Mix and let sit for 15 minutes.

Break tofu into small pieces with your hands and place in a blender. Add all other ingredients, except rice flour and soya mince or mushroom powder, if you are not using soya mince. (Alternatively, if you don’t have a blender, mash tofu, grate onion and red bell pepper in a bowl. or just use the powdered ingredients and leave out fresh onion and bell pepper.)

blend until smooth. Place the mixture in a mixing bowl and add the rest of the ingredients and mix everything well until you get a nice dough. Not too moist not too hard. You can add more flour if needed.

Fill a large pot with water, place the steaming basket on top and bring it to boil.
Divide the mixture into 9 equal balls. Roll each tofu sausage in a parchment paper twist the ends so that sausages can be completely covered. Place the tofu sausages into a steaming basket and let them steam for 40 to 45 minutes.

Omce that’s done, let them cool before removing the parchment paper. Bake or shallow fry. Serve with any your heart desires. Enjoy.

God bless you all as you try to eat healthy. Enjoy the wonderfulness of plants-based food.

NOTE:

If you don’t have soya mince, use soya chunks.
You can also bake this tofu sausages.
If you don’t have a grinder to grind the mince or chunks, you can use a pounder to pound it until you have a powder.
