This soya mince burgers is the simplest recipe anyone can make. It taste so good. Takes you just few minutes in the kitchen.
INGREDIENTS
100g soaked soya mince
2 medium potatoes (mashed)
1 red onion, finely chopped
½ cup of whole wheat flour slurry
1 table spoon of garlic paste
1 medium green pepper, finely chopped
½ tsp of salt
½ tsp rosemary
½ tsp cinnamon powder
1 table spoon olive oil
½ cup breadcrumbs (optional)
METHODS
- Soak the soya mince in cold water, (add just enough water, cover and let sit for 30 minutes or 1h. (the mince should have absorbed most of the liquid by this time). Squeezes water and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the soya mince, mashed potatoes, red onion, green pepper, garlic rosemary, cinnamon powder, olive oil, breadcrumbs (optional) and salt to taste, mix all ingredients together nicely.
- Now make patties and deep it in whole-wheat flour slurry and coat it with breadcrumbs. In case you don’t know what whole wheat slurry is: it’s just the mixture of whole wheat flour and water with some aromatic herbs. The mixture looks like pancakes batter.
- Place a pan over low flame, grease with 1 tsp of oil and add patties and shallow fry them for 3 minutes each side or until light golden, flip and cook the other side. Otherwise baking is the best option. I prefer mine baked. I did this for those with no oven.
- Cut burger bread into two pieces and place the burger in the center of the bread, followed by fresh tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce etc. (I put cucumber and fresh tomatoes in mine.)
- Now your soya mince burger is ready, Bonne Appetit.
