Oatmeal Patties

INGREDIENTS FOR OATMEAL PATTIES

1 ½ cup oats
1 cup mashed potatoes
1 cup finely chopped green, yellow and red bell peppers
1 medium onion finely chopped
½ cup spring onion
1 medium carrot, grated
2 table spoons corn starch (or any flour)
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp of garlic powder
1 tsp of turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin powder or seeds.
Salt to taste.

METHODS

  1. In a frying pan over medium heat, put little oil and sauté the onion, green, yellow and red bell peppers and carrot. Sauté for about 5 minutes stirring occasionally and set aside to cool.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add mashed potatoes, oatmeal, the mixture of bell peppers and onion, spring onion, turmeric, coriander, cumin and salt to taste. Mix well, then add corn starch or flour and mix again.
  3. Once you have mixed everything, shape the mixture into 6 or 8 small patties.
  4. In a frying pan over low flame add little oil about 1 table spoon and shallow fry the patties until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Serve with bread or anything your heart desire.
