Health on a Plate

Homemade Barbecue Sauce (BBQ)

I love to make my own food at home. I always say, the best things are made with our hands. You cannot rely on buying everything from the store, even this simple sauce. Store-bought sauces contain added sugar and other unwanted ingredients. So instead of you buying all the time why not make your own?

Enjoy this simple homemade BBQ sauce. Easy, healthy and delicious.

I use black trap molasses to sweeten my sauce. Sometimes I don’t because I don’t like sweet sauces, but if you love that, instead of sugar add molasses. It’s a healthy option.

Ingredients
1/2 cup of tomato paste

2 tablespoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 tbsp paprika
1/2 coriander powder
1/3 cup of water
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp of black trap molasses

1 tablespoon of olive oil
Salt

Mix everything together on a small pan and cook for 10 minutes on low heat .

Remove from the heat, place on a glass container store in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
