Hello everyone and welcome, I hope you will love this easy and delicious homemade chickpea burgers. Feel free to use your favourite toppings.
INGREDIENTS
1 and one-half cup of boiled chickpeas, mashed
1 medium red onion, finely chopped.
1 small green bell pepper, finely chopped.
1 small red bell pepper, finely chopped.
1/2 tsp of turmeric, (optional).
1 tsp of coriander powder,
1 tsp of thyme,
1/3 tsp of Salt,
1/2 cup of whole wheat breadcrumbs or whole wheat flour.
PREPARATION
Mix the dry ingredients together in a medium bowl, with the mashed chickpeas (mash chickpeas with a fork or potato masher, you can also use a food processor.)
Add the chopped red onion, bell peppers and the rest of ingredients. Mix very well. Add more flour or breadcrumbs if too wet. Divide the chickpea mixture into 6 portions. Roll each into a ball, flatten between your palms into a burger shape. Sprinkle the baking sheet with flour or use a piece of baking paper. Place the chickpea burgers and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and serve in a burger bun with with your favourite toppings.
