If you love cheese and you find it hard to give it up, then you are going to love this healthy alternative of cashew nuts cheese.
This is just to help you through the transition, until you can be able to forget real cheese completely.
This Cashew nuts cheese is very delicious, and can melt very nicely on your pizza, can be sliced or even grated.
Enjoy it on anything your heart desires.
Ingredients
1 cup of cashew nuts, soaked
2 tablespoons of agar agar powder
1 1/2 cup of soy milk or water
1/4 cup of unrefined coconut oil
1/4 cup of nutritional yeast, optional
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
2 tablespoons of lime juice
1 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 turmeric powder
Preparation
Soak cashew nuts in water for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
Drain cashew nuts and place in a blender, add half the water, and the rest of ingredients except agar agar powder and the remaining water. Blend until smooth.
In a small pan, place the remaining half the water and agar agar powder, mix very well.
Place on the stove and summer for 5 minutes stirring frequently.
Remove the agar agar mixture from the heat and stir in the cashew nuts mixture until everything is well combined.
Caot a plastic container or any container you have with little oil transfer the mixture quickly to the container and let it sit in the fridge for 2 hours.
Enjoy it on your pizza, bread, crackers, etc….
Remember this doesn’t taste like real cheese, and it doesn’t have to, your health is more precious than the taste of food. What you crave for your body doesn’t need it. Most people crave cheese but their bodies doesn’t not need it. Try to stop eating cabbage and see if you will crave it! Recipe notes: in case you don’t have Agar Agar powder use tapioca starch
– if you don’t have nutritional yeast, use something salty, such as miso paste, olives or olives water.
