A very simple plant-based milk recipe you can make yourself at home. I hope you will give it a try.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup of rolled oatmeal
- 3 of cups filtered water
- 3 pitted dates
- 1 tbsp of carob powder (for chocolate milk) optional
- Pinch of salt
PREPARATION
Add oats, dates, water, and other ingredients (optional) to a blender. Cover with lid.
Blend for about 1 minute (do not overblend)
Strain the milk using a cheese cloth, a nut milk bag or a napkin. Transfer milk in a pot and heat for 4 to 5 minutes stirring frequently in medium heat.
Transfer the heated milk in a sealed container and refrigerate. Will keep in the refrigerator up to 5 days.
You can also use this milk in baking goods.
Dont overblend it, it will become gelatinous and sticky. And don’t heat it for long. Otherwise it will have a desagreable texture
Before serving shake well.
