Egg yolks are extremely high in cholesterol (one yolk contains about 200-212 mg. cholesterol).19
A high cholesterol intake has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease (especially, oxidized cholesterol found in dried pudding, muffin, pancake, and other such mixes) and cancers of the lung, larynx, and ovary. Eggs are also high in saturated fat, which has been linked with an increased risk for heart disease.

  1. FLAXSEEDS MEAL & CHIA SEEDS EGG
    When flaxseeds are ground into a meal and mixed with water, it thickens and become gel-like, similar to a raw egg.
    Chia seeds is also the same, this one even if it is not grinded, it can still become thick when mixed with water and become egglike.
    These seeds bind like eggs in most baked goods, making them a great choice for vegans, they are rich in fiber and protein.
    1 tbsp of flaxseeds meals mixed with 3 tbsp of water equals to 1 egg, same as chia seeds.

2. BANANA
This one I am sure you already have it in your kitchen.
1 ripe banana can be substituted for 1 egg in any chewy baked good like bread, cookies, brownies, muffins, cakes). I actually use banana on my homemade bread every week as a sweetener and binder. It makes my bread a little sweet and gives it a nice structure makes it more healthy.

3. APPLESAUCE
1 tablespoon of applesauce is also equal to an egg in most baked goods.
When baking with applesauce and banana, it takes some few more minutes in oven than when you are baking with real egg. Note that this things wont bind exactly like egg but it typically does well and on top of that think of the health benefits you get from it.

4. CHICKPEA FLOUR
This protein-packed flour can be also used to substitute eggs.
It is used to make vegan omelets, with its yellow color, is it also used as a binder.
It also used to thicken the sauces.
Mix 3 tablespoons of chickpea flour with three tablespoons of water for each egg. Continue to mix until creamy and thick.

5. TOFU
Tofu is an excellent substitution for making scrambles, omelets, frittatas, quiches, or “egg” salad. Adding ground turmeric will give it that familiar yellow color and Himalayan black salt will add the sulfuric smell and taste of eggs. (for soy-free option use chickpea flour)
Silken tofu is a great binder, and all you need is one-quarter cup of it for each egg.

6. NUT BUTTERS
Nut butters such as peanut, almond and cashew nut butter are also another excellent egg substitute, they have a very strong flavor.
This egg substitute is mostly used in cookies, brownies, pancakes, I also use in my homemade bread, and waffles.
Use 3 table spoons of creamy nut butter to replace each egg.

HERE ARE SOME TIPS

1.Relaxed hair.

If your hair is relaxed, and you want to go natural, you don’t have to cut it off as days goes by the new natural hair will start growing and the relaxed hair will break away. Alternatively you can cut it short and start over your natural hair journey.

2. Avoid chemicals.

Try to use different treatments at the beginning and see what works for you for example masks and oils. Avoid chemicals treatments. Hair treatments improves hair growth, get rid of dead cells, it make hair soft, curly, manageable and bouncy.

Avoid junk foods. Hair is heavily dependent on protein so make sure you get enough of it in your diet. HEALTHFUL COOKERY

Before we go through our study of healthful cookery, I would like everyone of you to think about this. When you are in your kitchen cooking, adding your ingredients one by one. What comes first in your mind? HEALTH or TASTE? Many a time, we are after taste than health, we spoil the healthy food we are cooking by adding some unhealthy and harmful spices which are not good. Throughout my experience in my culinary adventure, I have leaned that it is very possible for food to be cooked in a simple and delicious way yet healthy. But to do this one needs to study the art of cookery. It requires intelligence and wisdom from God for one to this. The food can look delicious, but not healthy. It can be simple but not delicious nor healthy. And yes the food should always be healthy but because it is healthy it does not have to be bland, it should look palatable and taste delicious.

POOR COOOKING

There is more religion in good cooking than you have any idea of. It is a sin to place poorly cooked meals on the table. The matter of cooking concern the well-being of the entire system. When food is not well cooked it affects the health of the whole family.

The food placed on the table should be healthy, simple and delicious; to accomplish this you need to learn the art of the cookery.

The cook fills an important place in the household. She is preparing food to be taken into the stomach, to form brain, bone, and muscle. Over many graves of poor cooking might be written, Died because of poor cooking, Died because of abused stomach, Died because sour bread, Died because of bad cooking. Nature bears the abuse as long as possible, but in the end she must succumb. (CD 257.1)

IMPORTANCE OF COOKING

Let not the work of cooking be looked upon as a sort of slavery. Cooking may be regarded as less desirable than some other lines of work, but in reality it is a science in value above all other sciences. Thus God regards the preparation of healthful food. (we need to know that God is concern about what we cook and how we cook it, we should fear Him in the kitchen dear brethren) He places a high estimate on those who do faithful service in preparing wholesome, palatable food. The food should be whole and palatable, we need to avoid placing refined food and food which is poorly cooked and has no nutritional values on our tables for our families. Remember kids eat what they see on the table. We can have a variety of good, wholesome food, cooked in a healthful manner, so that it will be palatable to all. It is of vital importance to know how to cook. The proper cooking of food is a most important accomplishment. Especially where meat is not made a principal article of food is good cooking an essential requirement. Something must be prepared to take the place of meat, and these substitutes for meat must be well prepared, so that meat will not be desired. {CD 256.1}

The one who understands the art of properly preparing food, and who uses this knowledge, is worthy of higher commendation than those engaged in any other line of work. This talent should be regarded as equal in value to ten talents; for its right use has much to do with keeping the human organism in health. Because so inseparably connected with life and health, it is the most valuable of all gifts. {CD 251.2}

Every Woman’s Duty to Become a Skillful Cook Today we see most women engaged in other line works and they give little attention to the work of cooking, and this work is left with the maid or children. But this is not right, it is the responsibility of every woman to know how the food was cooked before its eaten by her household. sure of that. “ Our sisters often do not know how to cook. Other powerful remedies you can mix with onion juice for hair growth are:

  1. HONEY: Honey is a emollient which helps bind moisture to your hair and your skin. Combining it with onion juice helps boost hair growth while keeping your hair moisture and healthy.

Most people who do not eat a healthy breakfast tend to eat late at night. We need to eat the larger meal when we have the opportunity to burn the calories through the working day. At night, the body does no work, and should be allowed to rest without the burden of digestion.
So, friends, start your day with a good and large breakfast. You don’t have to eat less. You just have to eat right. And it all start with a good breakfast.

REFINED GRAIN

Choosing refined grains such as White bread, rolls, white rice, cakes, cookies, or white pasta over whole grains can boost your heart attack risk. Everything prepared with refined products lacks nutritional values and is harmful to the health.
You’ve got to be a savvy shopper, don’t be deceived by label claims such as made with wheat flour or seven grain. Or even by breads which are made with white flour and topped with sesame seeds, or oats etc…. or colored brown with Molasses. They are all just same old refined grains that raises risk for high cholesterol, blood pressure, heart attacks, diabetes and belly fat. If you have been trying to reduce your belly and still using refined grains you are not helping yourself at all.
Many studies have shown that women and men who eat more whole grains such as breads made with whole wheat, whole grains cereals, popcorn, cooked oatmeal, brown rice, bran, etc… have less trouble of heart disease. So, if you want to be healthy together with your family go for whole grains.
It is wise to read the ingredients list on packaged grain products, if the first ingredient is whole wheat or any other whole grain then that is the best to buy for your family.

This is how a grain is refined. The bran (fiber-rich outer layer) and the germ (the nutrient-rich inner part) of the grain are removed during the milling process. Only the endosperm (middle part) remains. This process makes the grains easier to use in cooking, but gone are many B vitamins, iron, vitamin E, fiber, and other disease-fighting components.

Here the example of refined grain product: white bread, white flour products, pasta, crackers, white rice, corn flakes cereal. Some refine grains products are of course enriched, which means that some of the nutrients are added back. However enriched does not restore insoluble fiber and other nutrients that are lost during milling process.


I want you to imagine for a moment!!!! Let’s say you were walking in town and someone come behind you and steal your 20 dollars!!!! He goes with it and starts spending it but his conscious is not at ease. After he has spent about 15 dollars he decides to come back and give you the rest. There he comes and explains everything to you and give you the rest 5 dollars. How would you feel? It is the same thing that happens with refined grains, they take more from you and give you back just very little artificial nutrients. You see how much you lose. The choice is yours. They don’t care about your health.


Here is why whole grains are more wholesome: they contain the bran, the endosperm, and the germ. Because they have not gone through the refining process, they are good sources of fiber, B vitamins, iron, zinc, magnesium, etc… They also contain plant chemicals called phytochemicals which are believed to have many health-promoting effects.


Here is what whole grains can help you with in the physical problems: constipation, hemorrhoids, low cholesterol levels and decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease. Reduce the risk of cancer and type 2 diabetes. They also increase the absorption of nutrients, because they take long to digest.


The table as killed many more than the war. What kills people today more is what goes unto their stomach. Being healthy does not come by chance, you need to choose to be healthy. It’s a choice you have to make. Make a good choice in choosing whole grains over refined ones. Those people don’t care about your health but their businesses. Diseases listed above are diseases that as health reformers should not complain about. If you are still troubled by such diseases don’t trouble God in prayer, trouble your appetite and your taste. Learn to say no to food that brings diseases, learn to put simple wholesome meals on the table for your family. Especially as mothers, the health of our families depends very much on us. So, let us fear God while in the kitchen. You might be cooking death for your family without knowing.


One fascinating study was done on chickens to determine the effects of refining on health and development. “Three groups of chickens were fed diets as follow:
1) 100% whole wheat flour,
2) enriched white flour,
3) unenriched
White flour. The effect of the reduction in B-vitamins caused the third group of chicks to die in five days. Those fed brown flour and enriched flour both feathered out and gained weight in a normal fashion. The first group having only
the barest detectable difference in five days, the advantage being in favor of the brown flour group. Although the chicks in both groups were about the same weight and feathered about the same, the chicks fed the enriched white flour had a high-pitched, rapid chirp. They were untidy in their cage, stepping in the water, then in the flour, making ‘boots’ for their feet. The chicks were high-strung and nervous, often pecking each other, or jittering together in one corner of the cage, if a slight noise frightened them. We can conclude that plumpness and condition of skin, hair, or feathers are not the only criteria to be used to determine the adequacy of a diet. Cheerfulness, self-control, order, mental efficiency, and productivity all count in this determination.

HOMEMADE BODY LOTION

Instead of buying body lotion with a lot of chemicals and harmful synthetic fragrances. Why not make your own? It’s economical, healthy and easy to to make at home and chemicals free.
If you don’t have oily skin don’t add honey. Honey will give that elasticity.

I added turmeric. But you can skip it. It’s optional. Turmeric is good for the skin so I always add a little bit of it to my body cream.

The day you make this you will regret all your money you spent buying body lotion. It’s very smooth on the skin.

Ingredients

1 cup of shea butter, you can use less or more. I was making for the whole family.
5 tbsp of Almond oil. You can use any natural and unrefined oil you have.
3 tbsp of unrefined coconut oil. In case you can’t find shea butter, I recommend coconut oil or cocoa butter.
1 tbsp of fresh lemon juice
3 tbsp of pure honey. You can use less honey.
1 tbsp of vitamin E oil, this is optional
1/3 tsp of turmeric powder, this too is optional.
Few drops of any essential oil you have.

Preparation

Melt the shea butter and coconut oil by placing it in a glass bowl, then place this bowl in a pot of boiling water until it has melted.

In a blender, put melted shea butter, coconut oil and the rest of the ingredients. Blend to mix. Pour into a container and place in the fridge for 20 minutes. Remove from the fridge and stir with a spatula or a spoon. (Just to make sure everything is mixed together). Put the oil back in the fridge or leave out in a cool until solidifies.

If you have no blender use a spoon or spatula, beat the oils for some minutes.

If you have no fridge put it in a cold place until it solidifie, it will take longer than the one in the fridge but it’s ok. Beat the oils after some 20 to 30 minutes before it solidifies.

If you don’t have shea butter, you can use extra virgin coconut oil or cocoa butter.

HOMEMADE GARLIC OIL

This homemade garlic oil is good for your hair, by massaging it in your scalp it stimulate your hair follicles and improve circulation which help promote hair growth. This oil is also good for baldness and dandruff .

INGREDIENTS

½ cup of olive oil, (you can use any oil).

1 head of fresh garlic

PREPARATION

Crush the garlic or grate using a grater. Place in a small cooking pan with oil. Cook on low heat until the garlic starts to get brownish. Remove from the stove and let it cool.

Once it’s cool, strain the oil and discard the pulp. Put your garlic oil in a glass container.

Apply 1 or 2 tablespoon of the oil to massage the scalp gently. Let this oil stay on your hair for 30 minutes to 2 hours. I leave it overnight, you can also do that. Then wash your hair with homemade shampoo. You can use conditioner after wash but the oil act as a conditioner so there’s no need.

Do this 3 times a week for best results.

HOMEMADE HERBAL SHAMPOO

As women, we all want to have healthy hair. A women’s hair serves her as her glory, but have you ever wondered how you can keep your hair, shiny and glowing? Have you ever tried to make your own shampoo at home before? Do you really trust your commercial shampoo?

Over the weeks, I have tried to make different shampoo recipes with no chemical, I found them very easy and interesting, very cheap and healthy for my hair. I will be sharing them one by one with you as time goes by, so you can choose which one work better for your hair. But for now, let us start with herbal shampoo.

Most commercial shampoos have lots of unnecessary chemicals in them. This herbal homemade shampoo recipe avoids bad chemicals, and is much cheaper when you consider the lifetime use of the ingredients.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tsp of rosemary
  • 1 tsp of moringa (cassia fistulosa)
  • 1 tsp of nettle
  • 1 tsp of peppermint
  • 1 cup of hot water
  • 1 cup of liquid castile soap
  • 5 to 10 drops of any essential oil you have.

PREPARATION

Combine all the herbs together with 1 cup of hot water, cover and let sit for an hour or until it has cooled down completely.
Once cooled, strain the liquid unto a cup, and pour into a clean bottle. (any old bottle will be great). Add the liquid castile soap and drops of essential oil. Give it a gentle shake.

NOTE:

You can use any liquid castile soap you have. You can also use baby shampoo. At least the chemicals in it are not as strong as shampoos for adults. Because your skin is stronger than baby’s kin.

HOMEMADE HAIR FOOD FOR AFRICAN HAIR

There are people who believe that African hair cannot grow without plaiting it, and that there is nothing to use in other to keep it beautiful, soft and easy to comb. Therefore, one must cut it.

But I disagree. I believe that God who created the African woman, gave her beautiful hair that serves both for her natural covering and adornment and He has also provided what the African woman can use to take real good care of her hair. There is nothing impossible before God. When we believe it is impossible for our hair to grow, we limit ourselves. But if we humble ourselves and ask God for wisdom, he will help us discover things we do not know.
I have been praying and searching for natural oils which can help take good care of my hair, and the Lord has revealed this to me, and I can humbly say that God has provided everything we need.

God has created us all different in everything, even when it comes to our hair, God gave us different kind of hair. Some has it soft, some has it hard and struggle to comb. Some has is long and easy to comb. But as of breaking, all hair breaks, depending on the weather and what you apply. Some put strong harmful chemicals which makes their hair to break even more and damage the scalp of the hair. But if you apply healthful oils which are natural and has no chemicals, your hair will grow healthier and beautiful. The bible says that the glory of a woman is her hair, and God has given it to her as a natural cover.
After many years of researches and experiments I did on how to keep hair natural, I came to realize that God has provided natural oils for our hair in every country.

To have your hair soft and easy to comb, that is a wish and desire of every Christian woman. And to make your life easy I have come up with different natural oils. After I used these oils and experienced their wonderfulness myself, on my hair and my daughter’s hair, I praised God in my heart to say God you really did provide for us what we needed.

The word of God in 1 Peter 3:3 and 1 Timothy 2:9 forbid us to plait our hair. Some believe that African hair can only be maintained and grow by plaiting but this is not true. Plaiting hair actually increases the risk of boldness and loss of hair. There are also other who go to the other extreme of cutting their hair and cover it. But short or cut hair is man’s hairstyle. It is the same as wearing trousers which is an abomination before God. (1 Corinthians 11:14-15, Deuteronomy 22:5.)

There are also other who put artificially hair in order to keep their hair. But this together with covering of the hair causes the hair to fall and enhance the animal passions as stated in the Spirit of Prophecy in the following quote: “The artificial hair and pads covering the base of the brain heat and excite the spinal nerves centering in the brain. The head should ever be kept cool. The heat caused by these artificial coverings induces the blood to the brain. The action of the blood upon the lower or animal organs of the brain, causes unnatural activity, tends to recklessness in morals, and the mind and heart are in danger of being corrupted.” – The Health Reformer, October 1, 1871. – Healthful Living, p. 185.1

My dear sisters, today I have good news for you. You can let your hair grow as long as possible and take good care of it without going to any extremes. God has provided a solution for your hair. He made you beautiful. He gave you beautiful hair and provided all you need to take good care of it. Because He is a lover of natural beauty.

This homemade hair food is easy and simple. All oils used are good for hair and body, and they are healthy. People spend lots of money to buy hair food, which doesn’t give satisfying results. But I found this way simple, easy, healthy and cheap for me. I have shared this recipe with many different people and they have all come back with positive results. I hope it will be of good help to you too. Don’t expect the results too soon, ask God to help you and take one day at the time.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THESE OILS

COCONUT OIL makes hair soft and easy to comb. It acts like a natural relaxer.

CASTOR OIL also makes the hair soft, thick, shiny and easy to comb. It is also good for the skin and for health, it works as a colon cleanser (when swallowed).

SHEA BUTTER does the same work as coconut oil, it does magic on the hair. Once you apply it on your hair it makes your hair so soft, shiny and easy to comb. (I guess this is what all ladies out there want)
Shea butter is good to use as lips balm, it last long and keep your lips moisturized. It has vitamin A and E. It nourishes the skin and makes it tender. Shea butter is good for babies too, for skin and hair and it’s non-toxic. Good to apply on stretch marks. It gives relieve to nasal congestion, also relieve sinus congestion. It removes the dandruff. My husband used to have trouble with dandruff, until we find out about shea butter. And when he applied on his hair, the dandruff disappeared up to date he has no trouble. It is best to choose the natural product over the refined ones although it may not look very appealing and may have some tiny bits of the seeds. But it is as natural as you can get. If the characteristic smell doesn’t appeal to you, bleached and de-scented butter may serve your cosmetic purposes. But such chemically extracted and refined products may not offer all of the health benefits Shea butter is known for.

OLIVE OIL is very good for hair. In cooking it is one of the best. When my kids were babies, I always use olive oil for their skin. When my daughter was born, she had such nice and beautiful hair, her father advised me to be massaging her hair with olive oil. And that is what I did until I find out about coconut oil, castor oil and shea butter. Up to now she still has beautiful hair. And I never cut her hair since she was born.
The best things about this recipe is that you can apply it on your hair, prepare it the way you want and go out wherever and whenever you want to go. You can also apply on your skin.
Here is some other option of natural oils. In case you don’t have what, I have used: rosemary oil, garlic oil, neem oil, avocado oil. If you at least have 3 of these oils, it is ok. If also you don’t have shea butter it is ok, just use what you have.

Sometimes I add neem powder or rosemary powder to the hair food mixture. But this time I did not have it with me. (just 1 tsp or ½ tsp, depending on how much your mixture is)

INGREDIENTS

30 ml of olive oil
30 ml of unrefined coconut oil.
30 of castor oil
200 grams of unrefined raw Shea butter

PREPARATION METHOD

Melt the Shea butter by putting it in a small glass bowl then place the bowl in a pot of hot water.

Leave it until shea butter is melted (don not allow to cook or be too hot as this will destroy the necessary vitamins that will nourish your hair). Once shea butter has melted add other oils, mix well and pour immediately on a container. Place it in the fridge until thickens. Then take it out and store it in a cool place. Use as your everyday hair food.

In case you cannot find Shea butter where you are, you can mix equal part of olive oil, castor oil and coconut oil (or one of the options I gave above). These oils can be found anywhere in the world and they can be applied on the hair with good result too.

Note: You can use the same as ointment for your skin and as a lip-balm for your lips.
